Japanese seventy-two micro-seasons : “Kokumono Sunawachi Minoru.”

From September 2nd to tomorrow, September 6th, is the Japanese 72nd season of the year, “Kokumono Sunawachi Minoru.”

The rice field in the photo is a sacred field in Shiga Prefecture.

It is said to be the place where rice was produced for the Niiname Festival after the Emperor's accession to the throne, determined by the results of fortune-telling.

In Japan, the ears of rice are growing abundantly and the harvest will soon be upon us!

I am grateful for the blessings of rice, which sustains the lives of the Japanese people.

So in Japan, there is the famous phrase,The boughs that bear most hang lowest.

The more it ripens, the more the ears of rice hang down.

Like the ears of rice that bow in the sky, I am grateful to all the people in my life who always give me very important lessons on a daily basis. I would like to deepen my learning with humility.

This is the season of harvesting grains, but in our garden, an unseasonal watermelon that my child carefully grew from the seeds of a watermelon he had eaten is bearing fruit!
